The final contract value is 711 708.88 leva, and the deadline for the implementation is December 15, 2011.

The construction activities include the strengthening and preservation of the archaeological structures, dismantling of reinforced concrete railings, columns, etc., finishing works, activities in the public space. In the part concerning the conservation work are included activities concerning the marble amphitheater structure - seats, ortostats, stairs and more.

The Company under the Obligations and contracts Act - the Consortium "Archaeology and Restoration" was ranked first in the open competition held to select a contractor in March this year.

This is the biggest contract of assignment under the project "The Ancient Stadium of Philippopolis - Preservation, Rehabilitation and Urban Renewal" that has being realised by the Regional Administration - Plovdiv and is funded by the European Financial Mechanism, said the Regional Governor Ivan Totev. He stressed once again that this project will change the whole look of the central part of the city of Plovdiv and will contribute to promoting the town as a cultural center and an attractive tourist destination.
