Masonry Canals

The masonry canals were part of the plumbing system of ancient town.

A vaulted passage-street begins from the track under the sfendona leading towards the fortification wall

A masonry canal was traced under the street with inclination to the North. It led the water from the drainage shafts on the track down to Maritsa River.

At a higher level on both sides of the covered street a draining system of masonry canals in different directions was discovered.
